Slot Jackpots Are Heating Up at Red Hawk Casino

The slot jackpots at Red Hawk Casino are heating up this summer with a jackpot payout of $67,373 to Adam B., a local Placerville Rewards Club member.

Adam came to Red Hawk Casino Saturday, July 23 to register for the weekend giveaway, an ice cream maker. He plays at Red Hawk often and had been playing at some of his favorite machines. He decided to try his luck on the Quick Hit Platinum™ two cent slot and had only been playing for a short time when the jackpot hit. Adam was ecstatic to see he won the top jackpot of $67,373. Adam attributes his luck to his favorite drink, the Mai Tai, which he was drinking at the time. When asked what he planned to do with his winnings, Adam replied, "Pay off bills and take a vacation!"For more information on Red Hawk Casino, please call 1-888-5REDHWK (888-573-3495) or visit www.redhawkcasino.com .Media Contacts Emily Cady Publicist Office: (530) 672-5078 Mobile: (530) 417-0872 Email: ecady@redhawkcasino.com Kim Stoll Dir. of Advertising & Publicity Office: (530) 672-4179 Mobile: (775) 232-4976 Email: kstoll@redhawkcasino.com

Quick or complex, frozen desserts made with ice cream cylinders - recipes

Quick or complex, frozen desserts made with ice cream cylinders

In a blender or food processor, combine berries, sugar to taste, vanilla, and yogurt; whirl until smooth and sugar dissolves. If desired, press through a fine strainer to remove seeds; discard seeds.Peach Ice Cream or MilkPer serving: 387 cal.; 8 g protein; 48 g carbo.; 20 g fat; 289 mg chol.; 69 mg sodium.Sizes (they're small) and costsFollow recipe for vanilla ice cream or milk (preceding), but reduce half-and-half to 1 cup and add 3/4 cup cold peeled and sliced ripe peaches and 2 teaspoons lemon juice; whirl until peaches are pureed.Replacing the ice and salt traditional makers use, these streamlined machines consist of aluminum cylinders with non-toxic refrigerant sandwiched between double walls. You begin by placing the cylinder in a freezer set at [deg.]0 or below until frozen solid, about 8 hours, then set it in an outer case, fit it with a mixing blade, and fill with the dessert mixture for the 20- to 30-minute freezing process. With could fruit and yogurt, milk, or cream, you can make a frozen dessert in minutes. Just whirl the chilled ingredients together in a blender, then turn into a frozen ice cream cylinder.Freeze as directed (preceding). Makes 1 pint, 2 or 3 servings.Per serving: 162 cal.; 5.5 g protein; 31.5 g carbo.; 1.7 g fat; 6 mg chol.; 70 mg sodium. The key to success is a thoroughly frozen cylinder. If it isn't cold enough, the ice cream takes longer to freeze, and results may be slushy instead of firm.Per serving: 306 cal.; 5.8 g protein; 32 g carbo.; 17 g fat; 141 mg chol.; 78 mg sodium. If you have the 1/2-pint cylinder, use 1 large egg yolk for the half-recipe. 1 large egg 6 tablespoons sugar 1-2/3 cups half-and-half (light cream), milk, or whipping cream (or a combination) 2 teaspoons vanillaUse, or cover and chill until the next day. Freeze as directed (preceding). Makes 1 pint, 2 or 3 servings.Place egg yolks in a bowl. Gradually whisk in 1 cup of the warm milk mixture, then pour egg mixture into pan, stirring. Continue to stir until liquid coats the back of a metal spoon in a thin, even, smooth layer, 6 to 8 minutes (do not scald or custard will curdle). Mix in vanilla. Cool, cover, and chill until cold, at least 2 hours or up to 2 days.Vanilla Gelato 1-1/2 cups milk 6 tablespoons sugar 3 large egg yolks 1-1/2 teaspoons vanillaIn a blender or food processor, combine egg, sugar, half-and-half, and vanilla; whirl until blended (if using all cream, do not overblend, because volume may expand beyond cylinder's capacity). Use, or cover and chill until the next day.Use only plastic or wood utensils in cylinders. Also, handle frozen containers with dry hands; wet hands will stick. These freezers make up to 1 quart of frozen dessert; they're great for 1 or 2 servings or for small families.Choose the richness you prefer. Use milk for a lean, light frozen dessert, cream for ultra-rich, or half-and-half or combinations for something in between. How do cylinders work?Vanilla Ice Cream or MilkCylinder sizes range from 1/2 pint (makes 3/4 cup and costs about $8) to 1-1/2 quarts (makes 1 quart and ranges between $30 and $50). Some brands freature extra cylinders; some turn by electricity rather than by hand.Freeze according to the manufacturer's directions, turning nonelectric models periodically, until mixture reaches desired consistency, 15 to 30 minutes for softly frozen texture. Remove lid and blade; serve or replace lid and let stand 20 to 30 minutes more in cold cylinder for firmer texture. To freeze the dessert mixtures, set the frozen cylinder into the outer case, fit with mixing blade, and pour in the cold mixture. At once, secure lid and attach handle; slowly turn clockwise three or four times. (If you find it difficult to turn the handle, gently turn it counterclockwise to free the blade; do nto force. Or scrape sides with a rubber spatula.)For a richer dessert, make the vanilla or chocolate-orange gelato. Their smooth textures come from their cooked custard base. Make sure it is thoroughly chilled before freezing; allow at least 2 hours.Per serving: 246 cal.; 4.7 g protein; 33 g carbo.; 11 g fat; 121 mg chol.; 57 mg sodium.Making homemade ice cream is easier and neater these days; you use cylinder ice cream freezers instead of old-fashioned makers that require rock salt and ice. These recipes are scaled to the cylinders' smaller capacities.Because you turn the ice cream mixture only a few times, the finished product expands less and is denser than ice cream made by other methods. In a 1- to 2-quart pan, put 1 teaspoon instant coffee powder or granules and 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate baking chips. Stir in 1/4 cup boiling water until blended, and continue stirring over low heat until chocolate is melted. Follow recipe for vanilla gelato (recipe precedes), adding milk, sugar, and 2 strips orange peel (1/2 by 3 in., orange part only) to chocolate mixture. Add mixture to yolks and cook as directed.into frozen dessertsEach recipe makes 1 pint of frozen dessert. Double recipes for 1-1/2-quart cylinders; halve for 1/2-pint freezers.Per serving: 241 cal.; 6.8 g protein; 31 g carbo.; 9.6 g fat; 289 mg chol.; 68 mg sodium.Manufacturers suggest you turn your freezer to the coldest setting and place the clean, dry cylinder upright and uncovered in the chilliest spot. In frost-free freezers, this is generally next to the cold-air vent; in manual defrost freezers, the floor of the freezer is best. If you make ice cream often, keep the cylinder in the freezer between batches so it will always be ready.Chocolate-Orange GelatoIn a 1- to 2-quart pan, combine milk and sugar. Stir over medium heat just until sugar dissolves. Each cylinder is larger than the amount of dessert it's designed to make, allowing extra room for the mixture to move over the paddles and to expand slightly in volume. Some manufacturers label according to the cylinder's total volume, others according to the amount of the finished dessert. If you use more than the recommended amount, the dessert may overflow, be softer, or take longer to freeze.Ince cream alchemy--turning liquidsTransfer any leftover ice cream to another container and store in freezer. To serve, let soften at room temperature to desired consistency.Remove and discard orange peel. Cool, chill, and freeze as directed (preceding). Makes 1 pint, 2 or 3 servings.

Ben & Jerry's confronts identity crisis

Ben & Jerry's confronts identity crisis

In 1985, for example, Ben & Jerry's settled out of court a dispute with giant Pillsbury Co. over the distribution of its Haagen-Dazs ice cream in retail stores. After taking a $5 ice cream correspondence course and borrowing $8,000, the two men opened a company in a converted gas station in Burlington, Vt.The pints are distributed in supermarkets throughout 35 states and through Ben & Jerry's 35 franchised and company-owned stores."There will be greater pressure by investors to examine this as the company continues to grow,' said Ziegler, "and as it becomes a meaningful amount of money.'In addition, a five-to-one salary ratio is in effect, whereby the top earners make $60,000 a year, and those at the lower end of the pay scale make $12,000.Dipping shops contribute only $2 million of the company's annual sales of $20 million. But Ben & Jerry's expects to have more than 100 dipping shops by the end of 1988. Stores are expected to open this year in Virginia; Pennsylvania; New Jersey; Washington, D.C.; Atlanta; Chicago; and Los Angeles. The terms of the settlement included an end to that campaign and a promise by Haagen-Dazs not to prevent its distributors from carrying Ben & Jerry's ice cream."We don't make much money on the franchised units, but they provide a good marketing angle--they're good for testing product,' said Mark Belcher, assistant director of retail operations. Units average $300,000 in annual sales.Company plans to sell its gourmet-style ice cream in 100 dipping units by 1988 to help supplement its healthy sales of pint-sized containers in supermarketsAt Ben & Jerry's, Fred ("Chico') Lager, general manager, is responsible for day-to-day management; Ben Cohen is president; and Greenfield heads up marketing and promotions, keeping the Ben & Jerry's mystique alive.Four years later they put the business up for sale because it was growing too fast. They took it off the market after deciding to run a socially responsible business. Linked prosperity is an integral part of their corporate philosophy.Cows graze peacefully in the pasture bordering the new facilities of Ben & Jerry's Homemade Inc. here, giving little indication that this maker of superpremium ice cream is in turmoil.Photo: Visitors to the Ben & Jerry's factory in Waterbury, Vt., line up for ice cream after touring the plant. The ice cream plant is Vermont's second largest tourist attraction. So far, they have been able to keep that part of its modus operandi,' Ziegler said.Nevertheless, signs of introspection abound: A huge sign on an employee door at headquarters here says "GROW' in huge, red letters. "We're talking about personal growth, focusing internally,' said David Barash, director of community development for Ben & Jerry's. With annual sales doubling each year for the past three years, management speaks in hushed tones about Ben & Jerry's losing its soul."Franchised stores are still only an adjunct to their supermarket pint business,' said Barry Ziegler, an analyst who follows the company for Tucker Anthony and R.L. Day brokerage in Boston. In fact, many analysts think that the way people perceive the company has been a factor in its success."We can stand up to the big guys,' and "What's the Dough Boy afraid of?' were two of the Ben & Jerry's battlecries in the highly publicized fight. As part of that thinking, the Ben & Jerry's Foundation donates 7 1/2 percent of all pretax profits as well as large quantities of ice cream to public causes.A common stumbling block for companies like Ben & Jerry's is that as they grow, they lose the creativity that made them successful in the first place, according to Harry Levinson, a corporate psychologist and professor at Harvard Medical School. "One way to circumvent the problem is to hire a professional manager. This leaves the creative person free,' he said. The Ben & Jerry's story is a legend in the highly competitive ice cream business. Friends since boyhood, Cohen and Greenfield decided to start a food-related business after they graduated from college.Ice cream is perceived as a fun product. "Running the company and having fun at it is important to them.Photo: The original Ben & Jerry's dipping store in Burlington, Vt.In 1985 Cohen and Greenfield took the company public, offering shares to Vermont residents. One in every 10 families in Vermont owns a portion of the company, giving substance to the its grassroots image. After discovering that start-up costs for a bagel operation would be prohibitively high, they decided to open an ice cream business.Ben & Jerry's makes and distributes gourmet-style ice cream notable for its oversized pieces of chocolate, Oreo cookies, and various other ingredients. For, despite appearances, Ben & Jerry's--an upstart company known for its unconventional business methods and flamboyant promotional tactics--is struggling to keep its identity intact. The ratio guarantees that as the salaries at the top of the pay scale rise, those at the lower end go up proportionately.

Summer berry ice cream - recipe

Use boysenberries, blackberries, or olallieberries to make this very rich ice cream.

It's great for large-scale seed-sowing jobsPhoto: For tubs, ice creamstick presses perfect, straight seed rows in potting mix; wiggle the stick when you press to make the rows wider than the stick's edgeIf you sow many flats, the row-maker atleft is easy and effective to use. It's made of a scrap of board cut to fit a flat (flats are different sizes, so you'll have to measure yours and cut the board to fit). Nail or glue strips of 1/2-inch beveled molding across it to make the rows. To make the board easy to hold, attach a pair of drawer handles to the back. You can regulate the depth of the rows by how far you press the board into the soil.On this page, we show three tricks to helpgardeners who start large parts of their gardens from seed. The techniques are simple and make the job go faster."That's an important part of the show, to bring in as much new product for the people,' said Hitts. "Sometimes we can and sometimes we can't get new products. We don't actively seek it. We respect the position of the manufacturers and wouldn't pressure them to give us product they don't feel ready to introduce.Show specials at the last housewares show held in November of last year included four electric West Bend items that had been marked down. The Mini Food Processor was reduced to $39.96 from $44.96. Slow cooker, popcorn popper and electric work models by the vender were also promoted. At The Andersons, the housewares department differs from typical discount stores in several ways. Incorporating consumer electronics such as televisions and VCRs plus furniture in with the usual electric and basic housewares, the department occupies 20,000 sq. ft. in a roughly 130,000-sq.-ft. store. If you sow in small tubs like the oneshown above, ice cream sticks are good row-makers; raked across the sown tub, they make covering the seeds easy, too.

Crank until dasher is hard to turn (or cream is frozen in automatic machine). The softly frozen ice cream can be served now. If you want a firmer texture, remove dasher, cover ice cream with plastic wrap, and replace lid; freeze until firm (or store in freezer). Makes about 2 quarts.

Hot sellers like the Litton under the cabinet microwave oven at $139 compared to $144, and Corning's 6-piece cookware set at $28.78 instead of the non-show price of $37.47 were also part of The Andersons housewares show spread.Consumer electronics lines on sale included a Sanyo stereo system for $447, or $50 less than the regular price, and a Panasonic personal stereo at $27.97 instead of $29.79.The center aisle is the place where customers at The Andersons ordinarily find promotional merchandise. Each year, the housewares show generates a 20% to 30% sales increase over the volume of the preceding show, weather permitting."The housewares show is an annual event and here in Toledo they wait for it,' said Rex Hitts, merchandise manager at The Andersons, a threestore discount operation."It's tough to keep that kind of growth rate up year after year,' said Hitts. Wooden chopsticks (especially bamboo) work best. After you get the hang of it, the process of picking up the seeds and twisting them into the soil goes very quickly. Push soil back over the hole to cover the seeds. You can sow more kinds of seeds in Marchand early April than at any other season. There's still time to start cool-season vegetables and flowers, and heat lovers should also go in so they'll be ready for transplanting when danger of frost is past.

And all who attend get a free scoop.Litchfield sold baseball and concessions equipment, including ice cream makers, cotton candy machines, hot dog cookers, ovens and deep fat fryers. He sold a batting cage, nettings, TVs, a computer, misting fans, a walk-in cooler and many other items. And, like all auctions, there are winners and losers, Litchfield said. Tulsa County and the Drillers came out on top, however."It is kind of sad, because it was worth a lot more money," he said. "That is a problem, the buyer has to spend money to get it down. A lot of times in this business you have clients that pay a lot less for something because they have to do the work to get it loose."Historically best known as maker of iconic Utah signs such as the Snelgrove ice cream cone and the Deeburger Clown, YESCO's signs today are visible from Hollywood Boulevard in Los Angeles (Disney's Soda Fountain and Studio Store) to Rockefeller Center in New York City (NBC). The Benefits of French Press Coffee

If you have never tried a French Press style of coffee, you may be seriously missing out on a world of flavor. Many people are new to using a French Press, which means that the only brew method that you are familiar with is an automatic coffee maker. If this is the case, make sure that you open your mind to a French Press, which will give you the opportunity to taste a full and robust coffee brewed without a filter.

When you're finished making frozen drinks with your margarita machine, just put everything in the dishwasher except the base, which just needs a quick and easy wipedown. Can you think of anything better on a hot summer day than enjoying a refreshing frozen drink, and then afterwards even the cleanup's a breeze? So many coffee connoisseurs prefer to use a Coffee Press because it is filterless, which will leave essential oils in the final coffee product. You will have more full and complex flavors within your cup of coffee, and it will be more fresh than you can imagine. Even if you are someone that normally likes a lighter brew of coffee, the Coffee Press would be the ideal choice for that style of a roast. As a rule of thumb, lighter roasted coffee is often preferred to exhibit clearer flavor characteristics. Even though many people popularly loved a dark roast, a light coffee roast is not overly roasted so that all of the unique flavors are still clear. There are many quality dark roasts on the market, but on the flipside, numerous companies also choose to dark roast subpar coffee beans to mask their actual flavors. The point of the matter is that if you want to taste the true flavor characteristics from a specific coffee growing region, light roast is the way to go.

Keep in mind that when you use a French Press, you will not use paper filters, which makes it an environmentally friendly alternative. It also does not use any type of electricity, so your French Press may be something that you want to take with you when you are camping or traveling to a distant hotel. We all know how terrible hotel coffee can often be with the tiny 4 cup coffee maker that they give you, so save yourself the trouble and use your Coffee Press instead to guarantee a delicious cup of Joe every time!

Margarita Machines For Sale For The Best Ever Frozen Drinks

Do you just love cool, refreshing frozen drinks? I don't know anyone who doesn't, so I decided to shop around for margarita machines for sale, and now I can easily make them whenever I want to for my family and friends.

The best deal on a margarita maker that I found is the Margaritaville DMO500 Bahamas 36 oz Frozen Concoction Maker. It includes a measuring glass, recipes, and instructions. Be sure to try your own ideas for different flavors after you've looked at the quick start guide and see what this machine can do!SalisburyWhen you make your own frozen drinks with the margarita maker, you can count on them coming out perfect every time, and the different variations you can make are really limitless. Imagine everyone's delight at your next party when you can offer them exotic tasting slushies and also how much easier it will be for you to be able to make a large batch of them at a time. More time to spend with your guests thanking them for the compliments you'll be getting! If you do brew a light roast of coffee in an automatic coffee maker using a paper filter, many of the essential oils will be removed. A Coffee Press will provide you with a different point of view because the coarse coffee grounds will be pressed to the bottom of the device, and they will be separated from your coffee product. There is no filter involved whatsoever, so if you want to truly detect the actual flavors within a specific type of coffee bean, that is the way to go. As an example, you may be drinking a light roasted coffee for the first time in your French Press, and you would be able to clearly taste musky, earthy, or even nutty undertones as a result. You can get mixes to use, or you can get creative with ingredients and come up with your own concoctions as well. Frozen drinks with fruit and some fresh lime juice are especially refreshing with their mix of sweet and sour. Putting region on the menu

YORKSHIRE food and drink really is the best.

"Go to most craft beer websites and they provide food and beer-pairing suggestions," he said. "Most promote the dinners via blogs and websites. As more people discover good beer and appreciate the complex flavors, beers are being paired with everything from salads to lamb, duck and desserts. Beer is more versatile than wine, so the chefs canHe says the beer-pairing dinners are the baby of Andrew Robertson, the service manager at Sal & Mookie's."One of the things I would like to see in the future is more new and interesting beers. Other states have more relaxed beer laws concerning the alcohol content of the beer, which allows them to carry even more beers than what are currently offered here in Mississippi," Robertson said. "Our customers are constantly asking for beers they have gotten in nearby states and we can not offer them due to the alcohol volume laws set by the state."

The 2010 competition attracted a record number of entries - with 6,021 food and drink products blind-tasted, tested and discussed during two months of intense judging by 350 judges. Jonathan Knight, chief executive officer of regional food and drink brand deliciouslyorkshire, said: "Yorkshire is home to many passionate producers. To have so, many of our deliciouslyorkshire members winning a Great Taste Award this year reflects the quality we have within our fine food halls, delicatessens and farm shops throughout the region."

Potz offer a pick 'n' mix experience in ice cream

Nestle ice cream maker R&R plans to bring pick'n' mix shopping to the freezer aisle with its new Potz range of ice cream tubs.

"It was interesting to see how the taste of certain foods and wines can change or be accentuated when the right wine is pared with the right food. So I decided to do the same with beers.""I am a beer lover and I do not feel beer gets the respect it deserves," he said. "My original training came when I was the manager of Bravo! Italian restaurant and got to see first hand how sommeliers and chefs pair different styles of foods with different styles of wine."You hear from the people who quit their jobs to brew beer why they chose to brew a certain beer and whose picture is on the packaging and why. So much of the presentation is the story behind the beer."Denby Dale-based ice cream maker Yummy Yorkshire, the Grumpy Mule brand from Meltham's Bolling Coffee and Dewsbury firm Curry Cuisine were among those to be featured."Sure there have been beer tastings at other places, but usually they are done with a representative of the distribution company and normally do not involve dinner. By having the actual company here, our customers can ask questions about brewing styles and tasting," Robertson said."Having a three-for-[pounds sterling]3 offer would encourage shoppers to buy the different tubs as in a pick 'n' mix area, and the retailers are very excited about this prospect," she said. The ice cream tub market has already seen new launches from Baskin-Robbins and Asda's Loaded own-label range this summer, but R&R predicted the familiarity of the parent brands and the soft "McFlurry-like" vanilla ice cream would engage with families and differentiate it from premium single tubs.Capital City Beverages, a major beer distributor in Central Mississippi, participates by inviting brewery owners and brew masters to attend the dinners. Vice president Brian Drennan agrees this adds to the success of the events. "The popularity of craft beer in Mississippi has exploded in the past few years. People are looking to try new and different styles of beer," he said, "but what makes the beer dinners a success is the opportunity for beer enthusiaists to interact with the owners and brew masters. I have never been at a dinner where someone simply read from a note card or the back of a bottle.

R&R has teamed up with DVD rental service Lovefilm to raise the profile of the product throughout October, with Potz-branded DVD envelopes, advertising on the Lovefilm website and money-off vouchers for members.

Beer party!

Move over wine snobs; beer drinkers are going upscale with a burgeoning number of craft breweries offering more variety. Dinners pairing beer with food dishes are showcasing the versatility and compatibility of beer. In Jackson, these dinners began about three years ago at Sal & Mookie's New York Pizza & Ice Cream Joint.

Beer drinkers may be surprised to learn that beer goes with foods other than wings and hamburgers. Like wine, beer can be paired with a dish, such as brown ale with beef or a sweet stout with a chocolate dessert. He finds that people love to learn new things. That's why bringing the brewery owners and brew masters to host the dinners is such a hit.R&R will introduce the mini tubs of Aero, Smarties, Rolo and Toffee Crisp ice creams (rsp: [pounds sterling]1.29 per 220ml tub) into retailers next month to plug a gap for a more everyday ice cream treat that can rival premium tubs from the likes of Ben & Jerry's and Haagen-Dazs.Co-owner Jeff Good said, "We are known for the quality of the experience. Real beer makers and/or brewery top-level officers come and talk about their products. Then these beers are paired with excellent food from our kitchen. We serve family style and consistently get comments that the dinners are fun, informative and wonderful."The list of Great Taste Award winners issued by the Guild of Fine Food features almost 30 businesses from the region as gold award winners. The first beer events at Sal & Mookie's were beer tastings with light appetizers. These usually sold out at 20 to 40 guests. The organizers noticed guests were having so much fun they wanted more and were asking questions about foods to serve with beers. Now the beer dinners accommodate from 80 to 120 guests and are always sold out.Robertson and Drennan say the dinners are also a great value. Held on a night when the restaurant is closed, diners enjoy beer with five or six food creations by chef Dan Blumenthal along with education and entertainment at a reasonable price.R&R has teamed up with DVD rental service Lovefilm to raise the profile of the product throughout October, with Potz-branded DVD envelopes, advertising on the Lovefilm website and money-off vouchers for members."Just as all Merlots do not taste the same, the same thing goes with beer. Each beer company has its own way of creating a style of beer. Because of this, the food pairings can vary from company to company. It is an exciting adventure to see the different styles that are out there and fun to see what others have to offer.""With most competitor products positioned more than three times higher on price, the range is a unique addition to the category and will enable consumers to cater for the individual taste and preference of every family member.""The shelf-ready packaging will really stand out. It has traditionally been difficult to get right in frozen because of the need for robust material," she said.A group called Raise Your Pints is trying to change that state law and has established a website, raiseyourpints.com/.Drennan says Capital City Beverages got involved because the dinners are a great opportunity to showcase the craft beers it distributes. "The people who attend are generally craft beer drinkers, but they often have not tried all offered by the brewery. It is a great sampling opportunity,'" he said. "We want people to leave more educated about the beer offered at the dinners and beer styles in general. There are many y ways to compliment your meal with a beer.""Sometimes it's hard pairing beer with food, but it just depends on what beer you're working with. For instance, a stout porter is a good rich, dark, coffee-tasting beer. You would not want to pair this beer with a light sea bass dish," Robertson said. "The beer would over power the cleanness of the sea bass and the flavor would be lost. This would go great with meat dishes with gravy or barbecue. The guild's annual awards are regarded as the food and drink industry's Oscars.(missing text)Robertson was inspired to begin the events because of his passion for great beers."Our guests are diners ages 21 to 60. Everyone loves what we do with the beer dinners," Robertson said. "The dinners are a fun time when anywhere from 80 to 100 guests can come and socialize. I have noticed that beer is less intimidating than wine and liquor. A lot of people are afraid of wine because they feel they don't know enough and don't want to be embarrassed by this lack of knowledge. With liquor, many people are intimidated because they can't differentiate between brands. With beer, people are more open. It can be a thing of class, or just a way to enjoy a beverage with dinner."Drennan notes that beer dinners and craft beers are growing trends across the country.Retailers would be able to put the Potz range on long-term multibuy promotions and "create an accessible fun 'pick 'n' mix' experience at the fixture", said Charlotte Hambling, senior marketing manager at R&R.
